I’m finally on the last plane of my journey to Bergen, Norway to board the ship. I was at the gate in Frankfurt. They called pre-boards, and then immediately said all passengers can board. We scanned our own boarding passes and were let thru, then downstairs and boarded a bus (crammed in). Then we were driven to another area of the airport to an awaiting plane on the tarmac. Fortunately it was too cold, and it was just a light drizzle. I would have taken a picture, but I really just wanted to get on the plane. Lol

Upon arriving in Bergen, I made my way to baggage claim to retrieve my checked bag, and then checked in with the Viking representative. There were 3 of us on the flight. The couple was actually sitting next to me, and had been on the delayed San Francisco flight as well. They currently live in Central California, but he grew up in Kaneohe. Small world. Lol
We had about a 20 minute drive in the rain to the ship. Guest services met us at the ship and took us back to check our passports and give us our safety demonstration. And of course our glass of bubbly.

Then it was off to find my stateroom. My sister wrote while I was en route to let me know my bags had arrived. Yes they had woken her up to deliver them. D’UH
I got a few things quickly taken care of and now its time to try to get some sleep. I should be exhausted, but there is some adrenaline, and of course moving around that woke me up.
I took a few pictures between guest services and my stateroom, but there will be plenty more in the coming days. It definitely has a lot of the look and feel of Viking Polaris which we took to Antarctica last year, but Viking Vela is much larger.
