A little after 2am, my sister woke me up. We had gotten the phone call, but I hadn’t heard the phone. The northern lights had been spotted. Looking out our balcony but didn’t see anything. We threw some clothes on (winter books, ski pants, jackets, etc) and headed out to head high up to see more of the ski. We went to the 9th floor and went out on the sports deck. A lot of people were already out. We could see a milky substance that looked like thing cirrus clouds. Lots of people were taking pictures (many with flash on 🤦♀️) and we saw someone’s that showed color. I took a night shot, and low and behold, there were the northern lights.

So technically we saw them, but we also felt that we couldnt really see them with a naked eye. We then returned to our stateroom, and since the moon was on our side of the ship, we went out on our balcony.
We were able to get a few more pictures in night mode (without people having their lights or flashes on).

We then opted to head back to sleep, but I wanted to document our first sighting first.
